Bonsai Trees

The origin of bonsai trees is believed to have been China, over 2000 years ago. Bonsai is the miniaturization of many kinds of different species. They can live several hundred years. The Washington DC Arboretum has several that old or older. Yours will depend on the care you give it and, to some extent, the species of tree you have. Pines and Junipers have the oldest record, Hardwood trees (Oak, Birch, &c) come next. Soft wood flowering trees less so. They are a wonderful gift that will last.
